How to get fashionable on the Republic Day?

Republic day in India is celebrated every year with great zeal on 26th of January to honor the Constitution of India as it came into force on the same day in the year 1950. It had replaced the Government of India Act, 1935 into the governing document of the India.

In India all festivals and celebrations are always involved with a lot of fun, fervor, food and fashion. India is a country having people of different cultures, societies, religions and languages that interplay with each other harmoniously. Since we became a Republic country, fashion has evolved in numerous ways and come back to where it took off with the famous ankle pants and sneakers of Raj Kapoor and floral sarees of Nargis Dutt in the 1950 movie ‘Pyaar’. Indians have become more and more experimental with fashion ever since and reflections of that can be seen with the variety of clothing that celebrities are sporting from traditional attires like kurtas and sarees to west-influenced attires like calf length skirts, denims, comfort fit pants etc.

How to get fashionable on the Republic Day?
To begin with our very own 9 yards, a simple white saree can be teamed with an orange color blouse and green accessories like bangles or earrings. One can also wear an orange kurta with a green salwar and white dupatta. It’s all about mixing and matching with what is already existing in your wardrobe and creating your own style.

As for men, Nehru Jackets have become a raging style of the season. One can pair his white kurta with blue denims and a stylish saffron jacket. They can also team their white pathani with a green jacket. In case you are experimental and like to go funky then an orange kurti with white dhoti pants would also look fabulous.

Since tattoos have lately caught everyone’s attention, getting a tattoo done of our tricolour. People have also been spotted with tattoos of freedom fighters like the famous Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Mahatma Gandhi, however these are the permanent ones.

Women can also get nail art done in the tricolours. We have even spotted people with hair dyed in the tricolours. It’s all about innovation and creativity.

However while getting creative and fashionable we must not forget that it’s our national flag and country that we are representing and it is our duty to respect them and keep them at utmost importance. We must be responsible enough to ensure that our country and its national flag is not disrespected in any way while we get creative. It is our duty to protect our country’s integrity at all times. We must ensure that while sporting the tricolour, we don’t keep the saffron colour at the bottom and the green on top. Also we need to be careful as to not have the national flag anywhere in the lower half of our body.
