THE MIGHTY DUSSERAH IS HERE

It has been a heck of a year with all the covid-19 pandemic happening, the whole year has been a less enthusiastic one but as the saying goes nothing is permanent everything shall fade. But hey, wait! It is October and Dusserah is almost here, a favourite time of everyone with all the hustle & bustle around, 9- days of Navaratri and 10th-day Dusserah, time for some fun and celebration.

Why celebrated?

Navaratri, the joyous festival of nine nights, which is dedicated to the Divine Mother Durga and Dusserah/ Vijayadashami, celebrated on the 10th day to celebrate the victory of good over evil. The demon Mahishasur had been troubling all the Gods of the Swarg Lok and the living beings since he had acquired undefeatable power. Even the mighty gods, Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva and Lord Brahma couldn’t defeat him themselves. So they gave rise to Goddess Durga who is the despotism of Shakti (power) and gave her the god-like weapons. As promised, she killed Mahishasur and so Vijayadashmi, celebrated as her victory over him.
